Our Scouts Paddlesports Hub at Willowgate launched in 2022 and is run by Scouts for Scouts.
The Hub had a very successful inaugural year in 2022, we had over 200 Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Young Leaders and Leaders join us for introductory kayaking sessions in our first term, and we’re now taking bookings for 2023. The sessions are a lot of fun and provide your Cubs, Scouts and Explorers with greater confidence on the water.
Sessions are run at the Willowgate Activity Centre on the outskirts of Perth. This is a very well equipped and popular centre, conveniently situated near the M90.
Three qualified and permitted leaders will take up to 16 young people out on the water for a taster kayaking session for the bargain price of £160. If you have more than 16 young people, as there is availability, you can book two sessions for your group, to make sure no one misses out.
Scouts can use these sessions to work towards Staged Badges, such as Time on the Water.
Your group needs to arrive 30 minutes before the start time, to get kitted up and ready to launch on the water on time. A leader will need to be present for the entire session to hold emergency contact and relevant medical information.
An explorer, adventurer and TV presenter, Dwayne's been seen in BAFTA nominated Channel 5 series Race to the Pole, on BBC Springwatch, Countryfile, National Geographic and Disney+.
