Young People Celebrate Adventure at Fordell Firs Birthday Event
Young people from across Perth and Kinross Scout District enjoyed a day packed with adventure, challenge and fun as Squirrels, Beaver and Cub came together at Fordell Firs today to celebrate the triple birthday of the three youngest Scout sections.
The district-wide event brought together hundreds of young people for an unforgettable experience, giving them the opportunity to meet new friends, build confidence and take part in a fantastic range of adventurous activities.

Throughout the day, participants tackled the climbing wall, the zip line, archery, tomahawks, caving, crate climbing, the water slide, low ropes, bungee jumping, team challenges, grass sledging, orienteering, the challenge course, survival skills and backwoods cooking. For many, it was their first time trying some of these activities, and it was inspiring to see so many young people stepping outside their comfort zones and conquering their fears.
The event was made possible thanks to the dedication of volunteer leaders from across the district, whose support and encouragement ensured every young person had the opportunity to enjoy a safe, exciting and memorable day.
A huge thank you also goes to the Fordell Firs activity team for delivering such an outstanding programme. Their enthusiasm, expertise and commitment helped create an atmosphere full of adventure and fun from start to finish.

Special recognition goes to Daryl and Gordon, whose hard work and planning brought the event together. Their efforts provided an excellent opportunity for young people from across Perth and Kinross to experience the very best of Scouting while making new friendships and creating lasting memories.
The District was also delighted to welcome East Region President Alex Duncan, who visited during the day to meet young people and volunteers and see the activities in action. His support and interest in the event was greatly appreciated by everyone involved.

The birthday celebration showcased everything that makes Scouting special – adventure, teamwork, friendship and personal growth. Congratulations to every Squirrel, Beaver and Cub who took part, and thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a tremendous success.
We look forward to many more district events that continue to inspire young people to gain Skills for Life.
